Rearfoot Extrinsic Post and Plate Instructions
  • RF POST POSITION (INVERTED): EXAMPLE: If the number “4” is placed in this blank, the orthosis will be inverted “4” degrees at the heel contact phase of gait. If the number “0” is placed in this blank, the rearfoot post will be parallel to the anterior edge of the orthosis.

  • RF POST MOTION (EVERSION): EXAMPLE: If the number “4” is placed in this blank, the orthosis will evert “4” degrees during the midstance phase of gait. If the number “0” is placed in this blank, there will be no rearfoot post motion ground into the rearfoot post.

  • LATERAL & MEDIAL FLANGE, HEEL CUP HEIGHT AND HEEL LIFTS: These modifications are only used according to individual patient requirements. See production standards for further information regarding any of these items.

  • MET RAISE (RIGID): This modification is built into the cast and is therefore transferred to the orthosis plate during vacuum forming.

  • MET RAISE (SOFT): Soft met raises are added to the top of the orthosis plate and their leading edge is placed approximately 5 to10mm distal to the anterior edge of the orthosis plate.
