Men’s or women’s shoe size should be indicated when ordering either full length accommodative orthoses or when ordering a full length forefoot extension. The lab can then produce an orthosis that will better fit your patient’s shoe.
Varus or valgus forefoot extensions may be ordered when control extending beyond the orthosis plate is desired. Using this option helps maintain valgus or varus control during the midstance and, especially during the propulsion phase of gait.
Vylyte, Plastazote, Thermomold, Spenco Type and PPT extensions may be ordered on any device except the Econoline. Please indicate the desired length and thickness of the extension. The standard thickness used by the lab is 1/8”. You may also order multiple types of extension materials, such as a combination of Plastazote and PPT. When ordering multi-type materials it is important to consider shoe fit. For more information on materials go to PRODUCTION STANDARDS
All orthoses except the Econoline may be covered with either PPT, Plastazote, Spenco Type, Leather or Vinyl.
Accommodations for one or more metatarsal heads may be ordered according to patient requirements. You may select either Korex or Vylyte. Forefoot accommodations are not available on the Econoline orthosis.
